UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child. For over 70 years, UNICEF has supported local authorities and communities in protecting children’s rights, helping meet their basic needs, and expanding their opportunities to reach their full potential.
UNICEF has been a powerhouse in the field of Social and Behavior Change for over 35 years with recognized experience, footprint, and know-how. The organization plays a leadership and convening role in both development and humanitarian initiatives, from global to country level.
A lot of UNICEF’s core objectives are in fact protective behaviours for children. The agency’s corporate results revolve around a myriad of practices such as healthy feeding, immunisation, handwashing and positive discipline. Decisions made by parents, guardians, peers, communities, influencers, service providers and authorities create the practices that directly impact children. We also pursue social transformations beyond sectoral results, to address declining levels of trust, gender inequalities, discriminatory power relationships, stigma, and lack of inclusion of vulnerable groups.
With close to 500 staff fully dedicated to SBC, UNICEF has one of the largest institutional network and workforce in the world. Come meet some of them at the UNICEF booth!
