20221205T0730 20221205T0900 Africa/Casablanca Tomorrow by Design - Sparking BIG Change Tomorrow through Small Changes Today : A Futuring & Foresighting Workshop

The future should not happen by accident. It should not be the result of a set of independent, unaligned decisions. Instead, the future can occur by design as we collectively anticipate challenges and plan for a future that is desirable for all.

Futures thinking ("futuring") can highlight the political, cultural, technical, and informational challenges that we face across sectors. With respect to SBCC globally, futures thinking helps us identify and understand the trends, opportunities, risks, and related issues that we may not anticipate by examining the present state of the world alone.

Foresighting is the process of turning facts about the present into clear and actionable views of the future.

Foresighting is not prediction; rather, it's a skill best used to think systematically about patterns of change-reading weak signals in the present to recognize tomorrow's mainstream. Foresight tools range from anticipating the unexpected to making future possibilities tangible.

ThinkPlace invites all "future-makers" to join us for a hands-on workshop that leverages futures thinking, the 15% principle of big-to-small change, and foresighting for SBCC. Strategically positioned at the top of the week, we hope that the collaborative activities of this workshop help spark a conversation about how making one small, intentional change today can catalyse important downstream changes in the future.

Yes, there will be coffee (and don't miss out on our expanding your SBCC network through our meet-and-greet activity at the start of the workshop)!
