In turn, this has an impact on their overall health and well-being, as well as that of their family, community, and country.
FP2030 is a partnership of governments, donors, multilateral agencies, civil society and youth organizations, and private sector partners all collaborating to advance rights-based family planning. The partnership has prioritized social, and behavior change as a critical strategy to transform social and gender norms, as well as achieve broader family planning goals. In addition to addressing the barriers between women and girls and access to a full range of modern contraceptives, FP2030 is promoting advocacy and interventions that address harmful norms and practices and emphasize efforts to promote positive normative change.
This panel will share knowledge and best practices from activities and interventions that seek to understand and facilitate change in social norms in FP2030 commitment making countries. Panelists representing both civil society and government will highlight the importance of multi-sector partnerships to support positive social change and normalize family planning, ways to ensure high level commitment and supportive policies to address barriers, as well as examples of successful strategies for involving communities and youth to address social norms.
