The SBCC community has the ability to unleash transformational change around some of the world's most pressing challenges, including poverty, gender equality, and climate change to ensure that all people can enjoy a healthy, peaceful and prosperous life.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an international commitment to global development, but they will not be met unless individuals and communities are informed, engaged and empowered to demand and participate in change and in improving their own lives.
The SBCC 2020 Summit, under a theme of Strength in Diversity, is a space where practitioners and academics from around the world can share their experiences and expertise in using communication for social change to achieve the SDG's. Successes and challenges from all corners of the globe can inform development in other places.
Including young people with experience living or working in developing countries helps elevate diverse voices and enables people from all over the world to participate on an equal footing.
This can only be achieved, however, with financial assistance to assist those who may lack the resources to attend.
You can help create a diverse and inclusive summit by contributing to this year's scholarship fund. Scholarship recipients will be those 29 years or younger who originate from, work in, or study in a low- or middle-income country and would otherwise be unable to attend without financial assistance.
