Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, and work towards tackling the root causes of the challenges faced by girls and vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 75 years, and are now active in 75 countries.
Plan International Nepal has been working in Nepal since 1978 helping marginalized children, their families and communities to access their rights to survival, protection and participation. We have our regular programmes in 11 districts at present.
Prevention, Tracking, Education and Transformation (ProTEcT) is a multi–year comprehensive project aims at strengthening community social safety nets and structures that prevent child trafficking, facilitate access to services and support reintegration of survivors. It also aims at building capacity of state and non-state actors to respond to child trafficking, to safely repatriate survivors and to facilitate survivor reintegration through a combination of education, training, economic empowerment, social and behavior change activities and systems strengthening. The project is being implemented in Sunsari, Makwanpur and Banke districts of Nepal and three districts of India as well.
