Auxiliary Event - Designing Trust: SBC, Knowledge Sharing, and Collective Action Against SRHR Misinformation and Disinformation

A Stronger Together Coalition Co-Creation Lab Convened Through the 2026 International SBCC Summit and Facilitated by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP)

Purpose 

The purpose of this session is to design audience-centered responses to SRHR misinformation and disinformation while strengthening mechanisms for knowledge sharing, collective learning, and coordinated action across programs, sectors, and regions. 

Through the convening power of the SBCC Summit and the Stronger Together Coalition, participants will explore opportunities to move beyond individual program responses toward collective action and shared learning across the broader SRHR ecosystem. 

Objectives 

By the end of the session, participants will: 

• Examine emerging trends in SRHR misinformation and disinformation. 
• Explore SBC and KM approaches to address mis- and disinformation through trust-building, dialogue, audience-centered communication, and strengthening knowledge management systems that support continuous learning and adaptation. 
• Co-create practical response solutions to SRHR misinformation and disinformation by examining context, influence, and barriers in real-world scenarios. 
• Develop post-Summit priority actions and commitments to address misinformation and disinformation.
