This session examines how storytelling can advance inclusion and equity in climate action communication, while also ensuring that stories lead to measurable action and impact.
While climate narratives are often grounded in scientific evidence, they frequently fail to resonate with diverse audiences or translate into meaningful change. At the same time, many of the most affected communities remain underrepresented in both storytelling and decision-making spaces. This panel aims to bring together perspectives from community-based organizations, creative industries, and impact measurement leaders and explore how storytelling can:
• Amplify Indigenous, local, and historically marginalized voices, and elevate cultural knowledge systems
• Bridge knowledge, evidence, and lived experience in ways that resonate across audiences
• Move beyond awareness to drive measurable action and behavioral change
• Address inequities in who produces, funds, distributes, and validates stories
• Integrate data, insights, and impact measurement to understand what storytelling approaches actually work
Importantly, the session will highlight that evidence is not only scientific. It is also experiential, cultural, and behavioral, and that effective storytelling must integrate these forms.
